Reap the Benefits of Gardening

May 26 11:00am

Did you know mint leaves have been used to aid in digestion, treat headaches and prevent respiratory disorders? At Hawthorn Court, residents are discovering these benefits and more, thanks to an Earth Box project. For the past few months, a group of resident-gardeners has been growing mint. They are now reaping what they’ve sown and picked the mint leaves to use in refreshing beverages such as tea. The act of gardening also offers health benefits and being able to show off their “crops” has given participants a great sense of accomplishment.
