Amber Lights Earns CARF-Reaccreditation

TUCSON, Ariz.—(June 19, 2024)—Amber Lights, an active retirement community owned and operated by Senior Resource Group (SRG), has been re-accredited by CARF International, an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services.

Similar to the five-star rating of the hospitality industry, this certification is the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to a retirement community. The reaccreditation – which is valid through 2027—is for both independent and assisted living.

“Achieving CARF reaccreditation is an important milestone for our community. It is a recognition of the exceptional work our team does every day to deliver person-centered, high-quality services that make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives,” said Executive Director Teresa Merritt. “CARF’s rigorous accreditation process ensures that we are meeting the highest standards of quality, safety, and effectiveness, and this reaccreditation demonstrates our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and to being a trusted resource for families.”

To earn its three-year reaccreditation, Amber Lights underwent a voluntary peer review process. This evaluation demonstrated to a team of surveyors that Amber Lights’ programs and services meet the highest standards of quality, measurability, and accountability.

The survey team’s report highlighted numerous strengths, including Zest, the engaging life enrichment activities and wellness initiatives that cater to residents’ mind, body, and soul. The report also praised the comprehensive dining services for offering residents high-quality, nutritious food options and a diverse menu of selections. Notably, the survey found that residents express overwhelming satisfaction and a strong sense of community at Amber Lights. This reaccreditation underscores Amber Lights’ commitment to delivering exceptional senior living experiences that exceed industry benchmarks.
