Senior Housing Firm Promotes Melissa Dillon to Vice President of Memory Care

Senior Resource Group, a developer and operator of senior living communities, has announced the promotion of Melissa Dillon to vice president of memory care.
This promotion follows Dillon’s recent recognition in the inaugural class of the 2024 Memory Care Innovation Awards.
Since joining SRG in 2022 as corporate director of memory care, Dillon has been instrumental in transforming the company’s memory care services. Her accomplishments include revitalizing the Enliven Program, which offers creative and engaging experiences that prioritize the well-being of each resident in memory care, and launching and expanding the Club Program, designed exclusively for assisted living residents with mild memory loss.
The Memory Care Innovation Awards, presented by WTWH Media, recognized high-performing individuals driving innovation who put their vision into action to enhance the lives of older adults living with memory-related disorders while supporting the professionals who care for them.
“Melissa’s dedication to advancing dementia care and her innovative approach to memory care programming has significantly enhanced the lives of our residents,” said Sara Padilla, RN, VP of Health Services. “Known affectionately as our in-house ‘Dementia Nerd,’ her passion and expertise continue to elevate our standard of care.”
In the past year, Dillon has emerged as a prominent voice in the senior care industry, speaking at multiple industry events, including the Senior Housing News BRAIN Memory Care Conference, TALA (Texas Assisted Living Association) and AZ ALFA forums.
Dillon brings over 15 years of senior care experience to her new role, along with a Master of Science in gerontology. Her work includes partnering with TheKey to implement specialized in-home dementia care services and introducing the TimeSlips storytelling method to enhance resident engagement.
“My commitment has always been to create practical, love-centered approaches to memory care that unite our entire team in providing exceptional service,” said Dillon. “This promotion represents an opportunity to further expand and enhance our programs, ensuring that every resident receives the highest quality of personalized care.”
SGR operates homes locally in El Cajon and Solana Beach, with six other locations in California. Overall, the firm serves more than 3,000 seniors at its residences.
